Adding Books

There are several ways to add books to your library:

• Search Bar: Use the search bar at the top to find and add individual books. Just type the title and select from the results.
• Add Series: Click the "+ Add Series" button and enter a book title in the format Book Title.Author Name. We'll automatically detect if it belongs to a series and add all books in the series. If it's a standalone book, we'll add just that one.

Import & Export

• Import from Goodreads: Export your Goodreads library as CSV and import it here to avoid adding books manually.
• Export: Download your entire library as a CSV file anytime for backup or to use elsewhere.

Personalized Recommendations

Click the "Get Recommendations" button to receive AI-powered book suggestions tailored specifically to your reading history and preferences. The more books you add, the better the recommendations become!

Reading Status

Each book can have one of three statuses:

• TBR (To Be Read): Books you want to read
• Reading: Books you're currently reading
• Read: Books you've finished

Click on the status pill on any book cover to change its status.

Categories & Filtering

Books are automatically categorized based on their genre. Use the category filter bar to view specific genres. You can also filter by reading status (TBR, Reading, Read) and sort by title, author, date added, or rating.

Rating Books

Click on any book to open its details and rate it from 1 to 5 stars. Your ratings help improve your personalized recommendations.

Account & Sync

You have two options for using My TBR:

• Without an account (Private/Local): Your data stays in your browser. Perfect for privacy! Just note that clearing cookies or browser data will erase your library.
• With Google Sign-In: Your library syncs across all your devices automatically. Sign in once and access your books anywhere.

Buy Books

Click on any book to see options to purchase on Amazon or Apple Books. This helps support the app!

Pro Tips

• Use the format Book Title.Author Name in Add Series for best results
• The "Not Found" category contains books we couldn't find in our database — you can manually edit these
• Click the stats at the top to see a breakdown of books per category or status
• Use keyboard shortcut / to quickly focus the search bar

At wtmf.se (My TBR), we respect your privacy. When you use our service, we collect the following data strictly necessary for the application to function:

• Authentication Data (Google Sign-In): When you sign in with your Google account, we receive your public name, email address, and profile picture.
• App Data: The books you add to your reading list (TBR), your reading status, ratings, and any other information you actively save within your personal library.

2. How We Use Your Information

The collected information is used exclusively for the following purposes:

• To create and maintain your user account.
• To sync and save your book library (TBR) securely in the cloud so you can access it across your devices.
• To generate personalized book recommendations using OpenAI.
• To improve performance and user experience within the app.

Under no circumstances will we sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.

3. Affiliate Links and Third-Party Cookies

Our application is free to use and is supported by affiliate links. Please be aware of the following:

• Amazon Associates: We are a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program. As an Amazon Associate, we earn from qualifying purchases.
• Apple Performance Partners: We participate in the Apple Books affiliate program.

When you click on a button to buy or view a book on Amazon or Apple Books, you are redirected to their respective websites. These platforms may set tracking cookies on your browser to identify that the visit came from our site and allocate a commission to us. The use of these cookies is governed by the privacy policies of Amazon and Apple, respectively.

4. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

• Firebase (Google): For authentication and secure data storage.
• Apple Books API: To search for book information and metadata.
• OpenAI: To generate personalized book recommendations based on your library.

These services have their own privacy policies, and we encourage you to review them.

5. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored in secure cloud databases using industry-standard encryption protocols. We have configured strict security rules to ensure that only you, while signed in with your authenticated Google account, can read, edit, or delete your personal library.

If you choose not to sign in, your data is stored locally in your browser and is not transmitted to our servers.

6. Your Rights (GDPR Compliance)

In accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and other international laws, you have the right to full control over your information. You can:

• Access your data: All your information is visible in your personal dashboard. You can also download your entire library at any time using the "Export" button within the app.
• Correct your data: Request correction of any inaccurate information.
• Delete your data: You can delete your library at any time using the "Clear All" feature in the app.
• Delete your account: You can request the total and permanent deletion of your account, profile, and all saved books by clicking on your username.

7. Children's Privacy

My TBR is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy periodically to reflect changes in our practices or for legal reasons. We will notify you of any significant changes by updating the "Last Updated" date.
